Punjab Police Constable Educational Qualification 2026
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Education Board/University on or before 01 January 2026.
- For Ex-Servicemen, the minimum educational qualification is Matriculation.
- Mandatory Punjabi qualification: All candidates must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any equivalent examination in Punjabi language on or before 01 January 2026.
Punjab Police Constable Age Limit 2026
- Minimum age: 18 years (as on 01 January 2026)
- Maximum age: 28 years (as on 01 January 2026)
Punjab Police Constable Age Relaxation 2026
- SC/BC candidates (Punjab residents): Upper age limit relaxed to 33 years
- Ex-Servicemen (Punjab residents): Actual service period in Armed Forces deducted from age, resultant age should not exceed maximum limit by more than 3 years
- Serving government employees: Upper age limit relaxed to 33 years
Punjab Police Constable Salary 2026
Selected candidates for the post of Police Constable will receive a pay scale of Rs. 19,900/- per month as per Punjab Government Notification No. FD-FP-10MISC/87/2020-2FP1 dated 29.12.2020 and Punjab Police (First Amendment) Rules, 2025. Minimum pay of Rs. 19,900/- per month is admissible for three years from the date of joining, along with other admissible allowances such as DA, HRA and benefits as per government rules.

- Log in and fill the online application form with personal, educational, and cadre preference details
- For District Cadre, fill 15 district preferences in order of priority (selected candidates will not be posted in their home district)

How to Apply for Punjab Police Constable Recruitment 2026
- Applications must only be submitted in the online mode on https:///ur.ls/punjabpolicerecruitment2026.
- Candidates would be first required to fill a registration form followed by the Application Form, which in turn would be linked to the fee payment gateway.
- Candidates for the District Cadre shall be required to fill in 15 district preferences to which the candidate would want to be allocated in case of final selection.
- District allocation would be made on the basis of merit position in Merit List and the availability of vacancies in the preferred District. As per Punjab Govt. Instructions No. 6/75/2019-7H3/1745 dated 21.05.2020, selected candidate shall not be posted in their home district.
- Applicants are advised to read the instructions, as given on the Recruitment Portal, carefully, before filling-up the application form.
- Incomplete application shall be rejected outright and no correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
