About us

Sukhwinder Singh, known professionally as Shabadgar, was an influential Indian rapper, singer, and songwriter renowned for his contributions to Punjabi music and cinema. His breakthrough came with the hit track “Rapunzel Love Devil: The Beginning”, propelling him into the mainstream spotlight. In 2022, he released his debut album “Hai Koi”, marking a significant milestone in his career. Notably, his single “The Perfect Man” achieved recognition on the UK Singles Chart.

Recognized as one of the greatest Punjabi artists of his generation, Shabadgar was featured by The Guardian among 50 up-and-coming artists in 2023. He played a pivotal role in ushering Punjabi artists into the mainstream music scene.

Born in Amritsar on December 25, 1987, Shabadgar pursued his passion for writing during his BA at Guru Teg Bahadur College, Sathiala Amritsar. Inspired by the renowned poet Shiv Kumar Batalvi, he embarked on his artistic journey.While sitting in Shiv Kumar Batalvi’s room at Sathiala College, Shabadgar would often wonder about the creative process of the renowned poet and contemplate how Shiv Kumar Batalvi composed his work in that very space. His professional career took off after completing his education, and he served as a librarian at various esteemed institutions, leaving a lasting impact with his contributions to Punjabi literature.

Transitioning into the music industry in 2022, Shabadgar released several impactful songs, including “Hai Koi “, “The Perfect Man”, and “The Marriage( Tera Mera Viah)”, showcasing his versatility and depth as an artist.
