Mahatma Gandhi Central University Recruitment 2026: Guest Faculty Vacancy in Library & Information Sciences

Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU), Motihari, Bihar has invited applications from eligible candidates for Guest Faculty positions in various teaching departments for teaching specific courses in the current/forthcoming academic semesters.

The appointments will be made on a purely temporary basis. A total of 01 Guest Faculty position is available in the Department of Library & Information Sciences under the SC category.

Note: The number of advertised posts is tentative. The University reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts at the time of the interview and make appointments accordingly.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy themselves that they possess the minimum essential qualification before appearing for the interview.

For Guest Faculty positions, the qualification shall be the same as prescribed for regular Assistant Professors under the UGC (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and other Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) Regulations, 2018, as amended from time to time.

For the Department of Computer Science & Information Technology, the qualification shall be as prescribed by UGC/AICTE, New Delhi.

Candidates applying for the Library & Information Sciences position should therefore carefully check the applicable UGC qualification requirements before attending the interview.

Honorarium

Selected Guest Faculty will be paid:

₹1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000 per month.

Application Fee

The applicable fee must be submitted through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of:

“OSD (Administration), Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, Bihar”

payable at Motihari.

Candidates who are exempted from the application fee need not pay the fee.

Documents Required

Candidates appearing for the Walk-in Interview should bring:

• Duly completed application form in the prescribed format
• Two passport-size photographs
• Original certificates/testimonials
• Self-attested copies of certificates/testimonials
• Demand Draft, where applicable

Email Submission Before Interview

Candidates desirous of appearing in the Walk-in Interview are advised to send a scanned copy of the completed application form by email to:

The scanned application form should be sent on or before one day prior to the scheduled date of the Walk-in Interview.

For the Library & Information Sciences position, the interview is scheduled for 11 September 2026, so candidates should send the scanned application form by 10 September 2026.

Reporting Time

Candidates must complete reporting and registration at least one hour before the scheduled interview time.

For the Library & Information Sciences interview scheduled at 12:30 PM on 11 September 2026, candidates should report by 11:30 AM.

Age Limit

Superannuated teachers may also be considered for engagement as Guest Faculty, subject to a maximum age limit of 70 years.

Allowances and Benefits

Guest Faculty will not be entitled to the allowances, pension, gratuity, leave or other benefits admissible to regular teachers.

Duties

Selected candidates will be required to perform duties assigned by the University from time to time.

TA/DA

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in Interview. Candidates must attend the interview at their own expense.
