The official notification specifies one UR vacancy at Pay Level-5.

Educational Qualification

The essential and desirable qualifications are prescribed under the NID MP Recruitment Rules for Administrative Staff.

For Senior Library Assistant, the recruitment rules specify:

Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or equivalent from a recognized university.

Desirable: Experience in library administration. (NID Madhya Pradesh)

Age Limit

The age limit is governed by the applicable NID MP Recruitment Rules.

Age and other eligibility conditions will be determined as on 30 September 2026, the last date for receipt of applications. Age relaxation for eligible SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen candidates will be applicable according to prevailing Government of India rules.

Application Fee

For applicable categories, the ₹500 non-refundable fee must be paid through a Demand Draft from a scheduled bank, drawn in favour of “National Institute of Design Madhya Pradesh” payable at Bhopal.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

1. Written Examination

• Duration: 90 minutes
• Total Marks: 100
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
• Unattempted questions: No marks

The written examination includes:

The minimum qualifying mark for the UR category is 30%.

2. Document Verification

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the written examination will undergo document verification.

3. Computer-Based Skill Test

The top 10 candidates based on written-examination performance, subject to successful document verification, will be eligible for the Skill Test.

The Skill Test carries 50 marks and is qualifying in nature. Candidates must secure at least 45%.

The test includes:

• MS Word – 40 marks
• MS Excel – 10 marks

The Skill Test duration is 60 minutes.

• Library Building & Resources Management
• Library Automation & Digitization
• Application of ICT in Libraries

• Open-Source Software and its Applications
• Research Methods
• Statistical Techniques
• English Language Proficiency
• Quantitative Aptitude

The written test is designed around practical knowledge relevant to the Senior Library Assistant job profile.
