Junior Engineer/Electrical

- Qualification: Full Time Regular 3/4 years Diploma in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering with minimum 60% marks OR B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc Engineering in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering with minimum 50% marks OR AMIE in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering with at least 50% marks from Institution of Engineers (India) Calcutta. Must have passed Punjabi of at least Matriculation or equivalent level.
- Age Limit: 18 to 37 years as on 01/01/2026
- Pay Scale: Rs. 35,400/- per month (minimum/Basic Pay as per 7th CPC/Pay Matrix)
Selection Procedure
The detailed selection procedure has been mentioned in the official notification of PSPCL JE Recruitment 2026. But we are giving you here the short summary of the selection procedure. The candidates are advised to refer to official notification for selection procedure.
Selection Procedure:
- Online Computer-Based Test (CBT): The exam consists of 100 objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQ) of 2 hours (120 minutes) duration. Topics include: Questions related to the concerned course (50 questions), Punjabi Language Knowledge (20 questions), General Knowledge (10 questions), Reasoning (10 questions), and General English (10 questions). Each correct answer carries 1 mark and there is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: General Category candidates must score at least 45%. Reserved Category candidates (EWS, SC, BC, Ex-Serviceman, Freedom Fighter, Sports Person, PWD) must score at least 35%.
- Normalization: In case the examination is held in multiple shifts, normalization of marks will be applied to neutralize the effect of difference in difficulty level across shifts.
- Merit List: Category-wise final merit list shall be prepared on the basis of marks scored in the online exam after normalization (if applicable). In case of a tie, the candidate with higher age shall be placed at higher merit.
- Document Checking: Candidates who qualify in the online examination shall be called for document checking to verify eligibility criteria including qualification, age, and reservation certificates.
- Offer of Appointment: Candidates found eligible after document checking shall be considered on the selection panel and issued an offer of appointment by the appointing authority.
