Maharaja Bir Bikram University, Agartala invites applications available in the MBB University Website
(www.mbbuniversity.ac.in) for admission to Ph.D in Mathematics, English, Library & Information
Science and Political Science programmes for the academic session 2021-2022. The applicants are required
to download the prescribed application orm, fill up the form, scan it and then send it to the email id:
phdmbbu.2021@gmail.com along with all the documents and receipt of the deposited requisite fees within
June 08, 2021 (04.00 PM). The schedule for filling up and submission of the application form along with
depositing of the requisite fees is from May 15, 2021 (10.00 AM) to June 08, 2021 (04.00 PM).

A. Eligibility Criteria (Essential):
a. Mathematics:
A person who has successfully obtained Master’s Degree in Mathematics/Applied
Mathematics/Pure Mathematics of at least two-year (or 4-Semester) duration with at-least 55%
marks in aggregate (for General candidates) or its equivalent grade ‘B° in the UGC 10 Points scale
(or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from an UGc
recognized Indian University is eligible to apply for Ph.D. programme in the Department of
Mathematics. However, a relaxation of 5% marks from 55% may be allowed for SC/ST/ Differently
abled candidates and also for those candidates, who have obtained their Master’s degree either in
Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Pure Mathematics prior to 19th September, 1991.
b. English:
A person who has successfully obtained Master’s Degree in English of at least two-year (or 4-
Semester) duration with at-least 55% marks in aggregate (for General candidates) or its equivalent
grade B’ in the UGC 10 Points scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading
system is followed) from an UGC recognized Indian University is eligible to apply for Ph. D.
programme in the Department of English. However, a relaxation of 5% marks from 55% may be
allowed for SC/ST/ Differently abled candidates and also for those candidates, who have obtained
their Master’s degree in English prior to 19tm September 199 1.
c. Library and Information Science:
A person who has successfully obtained Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science
(3+1+1 or 3+2 pattern) with at-least 55% marks in aggregate (for General candidates) or its
equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 10 Points scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever
