Eligibility Criteria for PAU Recruitment 2026

Posts 1 and 2 (Dean Level)

  • Ph.D., Master’s, and Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Basic Sciences/Humanities.
  • At least second division at Bachelor’s level and 65% marks or OCPA 6.50/10 at Master’s level.
  • 12 years of teaching/research/extension experience, with at least 5 years as Professor or equivalent.
  • Matric level Punjabi language certificate.

Post 3 (Director, Genetics Institute)

  • B.Sc. Biotech/Agri/Medical or B.Sc. (Hons.) Biological Sciences.
  • Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Plant Breeding, Genetics, or related discipline.
  • 12 years of research/teaching experience with at least 5 years as Professor or equivalent.
  • Matric level Punjabi certificate.

Post 4 (Senior Biotechnologist)

  • Bachelor’s in Biotechnology/B.Sc.(Agri)/B.Tech Biotechnology.
  • Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Plant Breeding.
  • At least 60% at Bachelor’s and 65%/OCPA 6.50 at Master’s level.
  • 8 years of teaching/research experience at Assistant Professor level or equivalent.
  • Up to 8 full-length publications with cumulative NAAS rating not less than 40.

Posts 5 to 18 (Assistant Professor and Scientist Level)

  • Relevant Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in the specific discipline (varies by post).
  • At least 60% at Bachelor’s and 65%/OCPA 6.50 at Master’s level.
  • Must have qualified NET (ASRB/UGC/CSIR) with one NAAS-rated publication (NAAS rating above 6) or Clarivate Analytics impact factor journal.
  • NET exempted for Ph.D. holders with course work as per UGC 2009 regulations and minimum 2 qualifying research publications.
  • Matric level Punjabi language certificate required for all posts.
  • Posts 16 and 18 additionally require proficiency in speaking and writing Punjabi, with a qualifying written Punjabi exam (50% minimum) before interview.

Post 19 (Clerk)

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • Computer course of 120 hours or ‘O’ level certificate from DOEACC.
  • Typing speed of 30 words per minute in English and Punjabi (Raavi font).
  • Knowledge of Punjabi up to Matric.
  • Age 18 to 37 years.

Post 20 (Bee Keeper)

  • 10+2 with Science and 1 year beekeeping experience. OR Matric with 2-year Agriculture Diploma and 1 year beekeeping experience.
  • Knowledge of Punjabi up to Matric.
  • Age 18 to 37 years.

Post 21 (Ward Attendant)

  • 10+2 pass.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as Ward Attendant in a 20-bedded hospital OR 5 years as DPL in Government/Semi-Government hospital.
  • Punjabi up to Matric.
