### 📝 Position Overview
The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, an institute of national importance, invites applications from dynamic, tech-savvy, and committed fresh Post Graduates for the position of Library Professional Trainees. This is a one-year contractual position designed to provide comprehensive exposure to the various functions and services of the Nalanda Library, contributing to your professional development.
**Number of Trainees:** 2 (Two)
**Duration:** One year from the date of joining.
**Stipend:** Consolidated stipend of Rs. 25,000/- per month.

### ✅ Eligibility Criteria
**Essential Qualification:**
* Masters in Library & Information Science (M.L.I.Sc) or equivalent from a recognized Indian university.
* **First Class** in the qualifying degree.
**Desirable Experience & Skills:**
* Knowledge of computers.
* Knowledge of IT applications in Libraries.
* Familiarity with Library Management Systems.
**Age Limit:**
* Not exceeding 26 years as on the date of the walk-in-interview (24.08.2026).
* Relaxation as per Government of India rules:
* OBC: Up to 29 years
* SC/ST: Up to 31 years

### 🎯 Key Responsibilities & Nature of Traineeship
Selected candidates will be an integral part of the Nalanda Library team and will be required to:
* Work six days a week.
* Perform duties in rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as per library operational requirements.
* Gain practical, hands-on experience across all library functions and services, contributing to their professional growth.

Candidates will be selected based on their consistent good academic record and performance in the following stages:
1. **Written Test** (to shortlist candidates).
2. **Trade/Practical Test** (for shortlisted candidates).
3. **Personal Interview** (for shortlisted candidates).
