Essential Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library Science
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Proficiency in Tamil (reading, speaking)
- Knowledge of Koha software and MARC21 format
- Ability to adapt to new and evolving technologies and services
- Initiative-taking and open to change
- Service-oriented and attuned to users’ needs
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of Devaganari (Sanskrit) script (highly desirable)
- Diploma in French
- One year of experience in any library, particularly a research library
- Knowledge of preventive conservation, especially of books and paper
- Familiarity with reference management tools such as Zotero
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
