| Job Type | Purely Temporary / Contractual |
| Duration | 2 years. An increment of up to 10% may be admissible in case of extension based on performance and approval of the Competent Authority. |
| Monthly Emoluments | ₹25,000/- + HRA |
| Maximum Age | 26 years as on the last date of application. Age relaxation as per Government of India norms, where applicable. |
| Essential Qualification | Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with minimum Second Class, and Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science (MLISc) or equivalent with First Class. |
| Passing Year | MLISc/equivalent must have been passed in 2025 or 2026. |
| Final-Year Candidates | Candidates awaiting their final MLISc result may also apply, provided the result is available before the written test/interview and they produce proof of passing with First Class. |
| Job Profile | Library acquisition of print and digital resources, classification, cataloguing, organisation of information resources, circulation, reference services, document delivery and research support services. |
| Working Pattern | Six days a week on rotational shifts, including holidays, depending on library requirements. |
| Selection Process | A Written Test may be conducted for shortlisting. Final selection will be based on performance in the Interview. |
| Interview Mode | In-person or online through Zoom / Microsoft Teams, as communicated by IISc. |
