Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent degree from a recognized university. The applicant must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as one of the subjects and must have proficiency in operating computers.
Age Limit
The age is calculated as on 01 January 2026. The general age limit is 18 to 37 years. SC and BC/OBC candidates of Punjab are eligible for 5 years’ upper-age relaxation, while PwBD candidates of Punjab are eligible for 10 years’ relaxation. For Ex-Servicemen of Punjab, the upper age limit is based on military service rendered + 3 years. In-service employees have an upper age limit of 45 years as specified in the notice.
Application Fee
- SC/BC/OBC/ESM/EWS of Punjab: ₹710
- PwBD of Punjab: ₹875
- All other categories: ₹1,200

Salary / Pay Scale
The pay scale for fresh recruitment/appointment to the post of Clerk in the District Courts of Punjab is ₹29,200/- (Level-5) for graduates, as stated in the recruitment notice.

Written Examination Pattern
- General Knowledge: 50 objective questions, 50 marks
- English Composition: 20 objective questions, 20 marks
- English Composition – Subjective: Essay, Letter, Precis and Punjabi-to-English Translation – 30 marks
- Total: 100 marks
- Duration: 2 hours
- Negative Marking: 1/4 mark for every wrong objective answer
Computer Proficiency Test
The CPT is qualifying in nature. It includes a Spreadsheet Test of 10 marks for 10 minutes, followed by an English Computer Typing Test at 30 words per minute for candidates who qualify the Spreadsheet Test.
