Other allowances will be admissible as per the 7th CPC and rules applicable to Indian Museum, Kolkata.
Age Limit
The maximum age is 30 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Upper-age relaxation may be available for reserved categories and certain candidates already in employment, subject to the conditions and approval specified in the notification.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for Library and Information Officer should possess:
- Master’s or equivalent Honours Degree from a recognised University in:
- Indian History, or
- Anthropology, or
- Arts.
- Diploma in Library Science from a recognised University or Institution.
- 7 years’ experience in a library of standing in India, preferably a Museum Library.
- Research experience supported by evidence of published research work in:
- Archaeology, or
- Art, or
- Anthropology.
The notification states that qualifications may be relaxed by the Board on the recommendation of the Selection Committee in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Essential Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Modelling/Sculpture from a recognised University or Institute, with about 5 years’ responsible experience working on sculpture models and allied works.
2. Hindi Translator

Pay: Level-5 – ₹29,200–₹92,300
Maximum Age: 28 years
Essential Qualification: Graduate/equivalent degree with Hindi in addition to English and at least 5 years’ translation experience in a large establishment.
Desirable: Knowledge of Bengali and Hindi typing speed of 30 words per minute.
3. Modeller
Vacancy: 01
Category: OBC (Backlog)
Pay: Level-5 – ₹29,200–₹92,300
Maximum Age: 28 years
Essential Qualification: School Final/equivalent, Degree or Diploma from a recognised Art College or comparable institution in Arts with specialisation in modelling, and at least 3 years’ practical experience in modelling.
4. Driver-cum-Mechanic
Vacancy: 01
Category: UR
Pay: Level-4 – ₹25,500–₹81,100
Maximum Age: 28 years
Essential Qualification: Class 10th pass, professional driving skill with knowledge of car mechanism, permanent motor driving licence and 5 years’ practical driving experience with ability to undertake minor repairs.

Selection Process
Selection will be based on marks obtained in the written test and/or skill test, wherever applicable.
A merit list will be prepared after candidates obtain the prescribed cut-off marks. The cut-off will be decided by the Indian Museum authority depending upon the number of vacancies and candidates’ performance.
